Get A Trade Under Your Belt…

Because a trade will never hold you back.

When Marisa Anglin, a Red Seal Welder, was considering her career options after graduating from high school, her father told her, “If you have a trade under your belt, you have work for the rest of your life.” She took this resounding wisdom to heart and soon began pursuing her certification through a welding apprenticeship.

Unlike other industries, working in the mechanical trades offers a clearly defined career path. From your first day working as an apprentice, you are earning an income. Upon completion of your apprenticeship and certification, journeymen earn a competitive wage. And after that, the sky is the limit — you have opportunities to develop into roles such as a foreman, superintendent, estimator, project manager, or even own your own company.

And the requirement? Show up, get the job done, and have a good attitude. If you are committed, this industry will reward you. The mechanical contracting industry is booming and constantly looking for the next leaders; hard work is recognized and you will progress if you stand out.

When speaking with Brenn Cameron, a Project Manager and Red Seal Plumber, about what drives him in this industry, he said, “It’s a multifaceted industry. If you want to continue growing there is so much opportunity and new technology progressing every day”

For Brenn, it doesn’t feel like work, he’s never worried about not having work and knows he never will.
