The construction industry as a whole employs nearly 240,000 British Columbians and supports 10% of all employment in the province. The cumulative value of BC construction employees’ wages is $14.6 billion.
The economic impact of the construction industry in BC is significant, accounting for 9% of the province’s GDP. With the value of construction projects currently underway sitting at $115 billion and the proposed construction projects valued at $206 billion, mechanical contractors provide essential services impacting all British Columbians.
